First you have to understand the difference between ML and AI….. reason why apple is not calling there new tech AI is because it’s not it’s a ML product

M. Junaid Mahmood

The sciences behind these techs were always there. The only thing that helped was that the processors (SOCs) have become small and powerful enough to be done on a handset. Also with more bandwidth available, the compute can be done on cloud and sent back to the device.
Otherwise we used to do this sort of stuff in Matlab on a pentium 2/3 computer in college/university for fun by using our lecturer’s voice with funny inserts in the lectures.

Looks good

Apple collected our fingerprints first. Then, face IDs, now voice. Next butt prints?

Imagine with the help of digital legacy feature where you have your loved one voice into the phone and once they pass you can have the voice to not miss them. Making birthday wishes to be even sweet and important

There was an episode of Black Mirror like this.

Letting go and moving on is part of the human condition and growing up.
This sounds like a huge coping mechanism and probably isnt healthy

Great Video Bridget! Soon you will be able to produce these videos straight from the keyboard with absolutely no time in front of the camera and you will be able to do all from your cell phone.

Apple is so behind in the AI race it’s sad to watch. They’re just like Microsoft that didn’t see the smartphone race coming so they were left in the dust. Apple is now getting a taste of that, they are gonna be left behind in the AI race because they were so focus on just selling phones and not looking forward.

Sh4unity

Now voice and later video recorded evidence will be obsolete?

Ed Hudley

Wow, iOS17 can be marketed as AiOS17.

Apple is using the right term! Machine Learning and AI are completely 2 different things. Giving that “wink 😉” thinking they are same thing shows how clueless CNET is ….

This is another with the best of intentions idea, and we all know how that plays out.
